Dr. Paula Kosower, Cello
Paula Kosower is an active performer and teacher currently residing in Evanston. This season she has performed concerts with Fulcrum Point New Music Project, with the Chicago Chamber Musicians, for the Chicago Philharmonic Chamber Music Series, and for faculty concerts at North Park University and Northeastern University. She frequently serves as a substitute player in the cello sections of the Chicago Symphony, the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
Ms. Kosower teaches applied lessons, cello pedagogy and orchestra repertoire and is an adjunct faculty member at several universities including Northwestern, DePaul, North Park University, and Northeastern Illinois University. She teaches private cello lessons for pre-college students at the Northwestern University Music Academy. She received her B.M. and M.M. degree at Indiana University where she was a scholarship student and a graduate assistant of Janos Starker. She received her D.M. degree at Northwestern University where she studied with Hans Jorgen-Jensen.
