Blanca Gorgojo, Cello
Born in Madrid, Spain, Blanca Gorgojo is currently a member of the “Orquesta del Palau de Les Arts” in Valencia, Spain. As an orchestra musician, she regularly performs with European Orchestras such as the NDR Hamburg, WDR Sinfonieorchester Cologne, and Sinfonieorchester des Hessischen Rundfunks in Frankfurt. She has held positions with the Dortmunder Philharmoniker, and the Berner Symphony Orchester.
Blanca begun her music studies at the age of 8 in her hometown and graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Madrid, in 2010. Between 2007 and 2009 she was granted a full scholarship to pursue a Performance Diploma with distinguished Professor Janos Starker at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. She obtained her Master ́s Degree at the Folkwang Universität der Künste with Professor Young-Chang Cho.
Blanca has taught and coached chamber music in the Heiligenberg Sommerakademie in Germany. She is a recipient of the Juventudes Musicales of Madrid Prize and the Jonde BBVA Scholarship.
